This website has been created by students at the University of Dundee as part of a Comparative Anatomy module. Our aim was to engage the general public in science, and enhance their knowledge of key differences in skulls of two of the most dangerous carnivores - the Saltwater Crocodile and Lion.

Here's some key definitions which may help you understand some of the terminology used in the webiste:
1. Medial = situated closest to the middle
2. Lateral = siutated at the edge or side
3. Doral = looking down onto item, or from directly above
4. Cranial = relating to the skull
5. Stem cell = cells capable of growing into more cells of the same type, producing a new organ or tissue.
